Jeffrey comes to Owen Sound from Brooklea Golf and Country Club in Midland where he was head professional for two years.
He started playing golf when he was 12 and received a golf scholarship to attend Northeast Louisiana University.
His career began as a CPGA assistant at Kings Forest Golf Club in Hamilton, Ontario, the community where he was raised after emigrating from Scotland with his family.
His next position was at the famed Hamilton Golf and Country Club where he worked for five years as an associate pro.
One of the highlights of his time at Hamilton G&CC was repairing golf clubs with golf legend Arnold Palmer during the 1996 duMaurier Champions PGA Senior Tour.
In 2001, he joined forces to help build and establish Crosswinds Golf and Country Club in north Burlington.
A few years later he headed north to take over as head pro at Collingwood's Cranberry Golf Resort, which is now known as Atoka Golf Club.
In 2007, he moved to the Raven Golf Club at Lora Bay where his work as a pro included helping with the Telus World Skins Game which featured PGA stars John Daly, Colin Montgomerie, Geoff Ogilvy, Retief Goosen and Stephen Ames.
His accomplishments with the CPGA include Ontario PGA Assistant Professional of the Year, two-time Assistant Professional of the Year in the Hamilton-Niagara Zone, Ontario PGA Assistant's Championship winner, and two-time Ontario PGA Assistant's Northern Championship winner.
He has attended golf instruction seminars featuring top teachers such as Hank Haney, Rick Smith, Jimmy Ballard, Mike Hebron and Jim Flick and various golf club fitting and repair workshops.
Jeffrey, who officially starts March 1, replaces Evans Mahoney, who left the club at the end of the 2009 season.
