Dates set for 2010 Gretzky event
PGA Nationwide Tour stop set for July 5-11
The Ford Wayne Gretzky Classic Nationwide Tour event will be held July 5-11, 2010 at the same two Thornbury-area courses where the tourney was played in 2008 and 2009.
The Pro-Am event kicks off with practice rounds on July 5, 6 & 7 then moves to tournament play on July 8 & 9. The final two rounds will be on July 10 & 11.
Pratice rounds and the first two rounds will be played at both The Georgian Bay Club (GBC) and the Raven Golf Club at Lora Bay, while the final two rounds are at GBC.
Once again, 160 pros will be paired with celebrities and amateurs with the top teams qualifying for weekend play.
Among the celebrities who participated last year were tournament host Wayne Gretzky with his wife Janet, Donovan Bailey, Charles Barkley, Brett Hull, Todd Bertuzzi, Ed Mio, Cassie Campbell and Catriona Le May Doan.
No word yet on celebrity golfers for 2010 but you can expect them to be announced as the event draws closer.
