Myatt to play on Hooters Tour
Local clubs fundraising to help him with tour expenses

Andy Myatt of Saugeen Golf Club is heading south this fall to play in the Carolina series of the Hooters Pro Golf Tour.
The Owen Sound native will tee it up at the opening event on Nov. 3-5 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
"It's just something that I've always wanted to do," Myatt said in an interview with Grey-Bruce Golf. "I want to try it while I'm young and before I get settled into a regular job."
Myatt graduated in the spring from West Virginia Tech where he was one of the stars of the college golf team and has spent this summer working at Saugeen Golf Club.
He has booked a condo in Myrtle Beach for four months and intends to play in at least 10 events. All of the tour events are held in the Myrtle Beach area.
Playing on a pro tour has been his goal since being injured in a serious car accident last September.
He is still dealing with back, neck and hip pain from the accident and has worked this summer on changing his swing to reduce the impact on the injured areas.
He has received help with this from his brother Jeff, head pro and general manager at Saugeen, and Michael Todd, head pro and general manager at Stone Tree Golf and Fitness near Owen Sound.
Saugeen and Stone Tree are also spearheading fundraising campaigns to help cover some of Myatt's tour expenses.
Myatt will be joined by his brother Jeff, who will caddy for him at the Nov. 17-19 event at Meadowlands Golf Club in Calabash, N.C.
The top 5 players on the Carolina Series tour will qualify to play in the main Hooters Tour, which is the premier developmental tour for the Nationwide Tour.
