Amyot team wins Ironman
Shoot -10 on a cool fall day
The team of Roger Amyot and his sons Chase, Ryan and Scott shot 60 (-10) to win the Oct. 10 Ironman scramble at Stone Tree Golf and Fitness Club.
The tournament - a Thanksgiving weekend tradition - was played from the back tees with tough pin placements on a cool and sunny day.
Two teams tied for second at 61, but after a draw, second place honours went to the foursome of Steve and Brian Irving and Barry and Jeff Brick. Finishing third was the team of Chris Frook, Andy Vandolder, Jerry Reid and Trevor Brennan.
Closest to the pin winners were Greg McArthur on #5, Brian Wright on #8, Jerry Reid on #11, Brad Shipley on #16 and Greg Gray on #18. Stone Tree pro Tyler Gravel had the longest drive on #14.
Another big winner was Paul Bailey, who picked up a free 2010 membership in a raffle.
Thirty-eight teams and 152 golfers played in the event.
