Georgian Bay in Tobermory, Ont. has taken the number one spot on the most-viewed list among 3,000 must-see entries on the national travel website www.localsknow.ca
The Top Ten Hidden Travel Gems list is determined by Canadians from coast to coast. Located along the shores of Georgian Bay and Lake Huron, the Bruce Peninsula Park where the photo was taken also features lighthouses, shipwrecks, orchids, Bruce trail hiking, the Chi-Cheemaun ferry to Manitoulin and a vibrant maritime village - Tobermory.
The "Grotto" area captured in the photo is within easy driving distance of many popular Grey-Bruce golf courses and can be reached with a 20-minute hike from the parking area within Bruce Peninsula Park.
You can climb down into the ancient sea cave and swim in the Carribean-coloured waters.
The Bruce Peninsula is a UNESCO World Bioshphere Reserve located 3.5 hours north of Toronto.
In other travel news, FiftyPlus magazine recently listed Sauble Beach as one of the 6 Top Beaches in Canada. It features 11 kilometres of soft sand, shallow warm waters and a funky retro beach atmosphere.
The popular beach is along the shores of Lake Huron about 40 minutes west of Owen Sound.
