Golfers rave about Cobble
Lucky trip winner says course is 'unbelievable'

Mike Curley (left in photo above) of Richmond Hill is one lucky guy.
He was the fortunate golfer who won the Carguide Canada - Acura Ride & Drive contest at the Toronto Golf and Travel Show this year which gave him four rounds of golf and luxury accommodations for one night at Cobble Beach Golf Links, a $300 food/merchandise voucher and the use of a 2009 Acura for two days.
Curley also lucked out with the weather, getting two beautiful sunny days on May 19 & 20.
It was his first trip to Cobble Beach and he was absolutely thrilled with the experience.
"It's an unbelievable course. The conditions and the scenery are the best, amazing, 5-star," he said.
His golfing partner, Darryl Owen of Toronto, also raved about the course.
"I've played a lot of nice golf courses across Ontario and across Canada and this is quite different than anything else," Owen said.
He noted that with the elevation changes and views of the bay on every hole, the course has to be rated as one of the most scenic in the province, if not the country.
"They've done a great job here. I'd recommend it to anyone." Both Owen and Curley were also impressed with the service they received from the Cobble staff as well as the quality of food and accommodations.
As part of the Acura promotion, they were photographed enroute to the golf course and at Cobble Beach by Carguide magazine. The photographs and content about the car, as well as coverage of the golf course and its amenities, will be published in the Summer Issue of Carguide Canada.
Now that Curley has discovered the area, he plans to return later this summer to play Cobble again.
He will also be making a trip to another of the area's premier courses later this summer as he won a free round of golf at the Raven Golf Club at Lora Bay during the Toronto Golf Show. He was one of 1,620 golfers who spun a modified Crown and Anchor wheel at the Grey-Bruce Golf booth to win a free round.
