The Links at Piper's Glen is like no other course in Grey-Bruce. It's a Scottish Links style layout that offers everything from pot bunkers to a rare French Biarritz green - one of only a handful of this style in North America. The green is 100 feet by 30 feet with an eight-foot elevation change and a hollow in the middle, providing many golfers with an unforgettable roller coaster ride. The Port Elgin course is also the only one in the area to use aiming poles, which are characteristic of real links courses that have semi-blind and blind tee shots. True to its name, The Links at Piper's Glen is a wide-open course with lots of fescue, wild vegetation and berms bordering its undulating fairways. But the par-71 course offers more than good looks and challenge. It also has a full driving range and putting green, a pro shop and a restored clubhouse that is capable of handling groups big or small. With all this, you might say it's a little slice of Scottish paradise right in Grey-Bruce. |
